One can look at war as a series of phases. There are 'the beginnings of war', 'the prosecution of war', 'the end of the war', and 'the period between wars'. Another way to describe the same four phases is 'the breakdown of peace', 'the absence of peace', 'the resumption of peace', and 'the maintenance of peace'.
War is an imprecise way to solve anything.
There are some other aspects about war:
- The Navajo Code Talkers. By having non-standard language speakers, the American war effort was aided.
- When we capture enemies, they can plot right in front of our soldiers unless we gag them all. Simply learning their language will help make sure we can hear their legitimate concerns, and perhaps medical conditions.
- Training spies. People learn languages young. We don't teach Arabic in almost any(?any?) schools to people aged young enough to learn Arabic as a native speaker.
