One dangerous thing about this idea is that it will possibly fuel the mindlessness of some linguistic supremacists. There will be people who are happy to destroy other languages, or perhaps to attempt to enforce single language laws, or to restrict suffrage or other political rights based on language (as if conducing the highest business of the State in a foreign language isn't restrictive enough).

There is nothing nice that can be said about any of this, so perhaps nothing should be said at all, no press at all.
